That is why this year, we are asking you to join us now through October 10th, as we raise awareness with The World Health Organization for
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY.
This year's theme is:
YOUNG PEOPLE AND MENTAL HEALTH IN A CHANGING WORLD
1. SIGN UP from one of the "sign up" buttons on this page. If you can't commit this year, support some one who is raising awareness and funds, listed below. Or, simply donate on the link above.
2. Commit to any or all of the suggested awareness-raising activities, below. You will see these suggestions in your pre-filled campaign page when you sign up. Please personalize and modify in a way that is most meaningful to you. We're here to support your efforts every step of the way.
3. From today until October 10th, share your efforts on social media with the hashtags #WorldMentalHealthDay and #YouthMentalHealth. After following us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, tag The Child and Family Guidance Center in your posts and we will share them to boost your efforts.
4. Ask your friends, family & social network to support your efforts by donating to your campaign page and asking them to share your page with their social networks.
Our goal for this awareness-fundraiser is $1010.00, since World Mental Health Day is 10/10. Choose the goal you are most comfortable raising.
The funds you raise will support our continuing promise, especially as we face increased demand for services and cuts to government funding.

Q &A:
WHAT IS THE CAUSE?
To raise awareness about World Mental Health Day, & to raise much needed funds for The Child and Family Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport
WHY THIS CAUSE?
This year's theme is "YOUNG PEOPLE AND MENTAL HEALTH IN A CHANGING WORLD". That's a central issue to our work.
HOW DO I MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Through specific community activities to build awareness about mental health, particularly for youth in this changing world..When you register, you can personalize your campaign page to include any or all of the suggested awareness raising activities, and to make it meaningful to you and your friends, family and social network. Asking people to support your efforts with a gift to The Child and Family Guidance Center will make a concrete difference in the lives of youth in our communities.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO RAISE FUNDS TOO?
THE CHILD AND FAMILY GUIDANCE CENTER HAS PROVIDED QUALITY MENTAL HEALTHCARE TO ANYONE, REGARDLESS OF THE ABILITY TO PAY SINCE 1925. WE NEED GENEROUS SUPPORT TO KEEP THAT PROMISE. BECAUSE OF CONTINUAL CUTS TO TRADITIONAL SOURCES OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING, AND AN INCREASE DEMAND FOR SERVICES, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT MORE THAN EVER.

You're all set. Your records will be sent to you. Don't forget to save your log in information, and the URL for your campaign fundraising page. This will be your tool to share with friends, family and social network as a Mental Health Awareness Advocate!
We will be in touch with social media and email messaging ideas, especially as we build awareness a little more each day until October 10th.
Let's really get the conversation rolling about how important it is that all children have access to quality mental healthcare treatment. On behalf of all the children and families we serve, thank you for helping us keep our promise that anyone can have access to the treatment they need, regardless of the ability to pay.
