“Everything I had an issue with, they had a solution.”

Ruth & her son, Caspar, along with our Bilingual Care Coordinator, Elizabeth Hernandez

As the year comes to a close, we want to express our gratitude for your continued partnership with The Child and Family Guidance Center (CFGC). Your support has been essential in making a lasting impact on families like Ruth’s.

Ruth, a Latina, single mother of three boys sought our assistance during a time of overwhelming stress. Her youngest son, Caspar, was struggling with his mental health, causing Ruth to leave work several times a week to pick him up early from school. While Ruth and Caspar participated in other programs, challenges persisted.

That’s when Ruth was referred to CFGC.

Initially hesitant, Ruth quickly felt reassured by our compassionate, bilingual, and bicultural team. Caspar received support from a CFGC psychiatrist to help manage his ADHD and behavioral outbursts, and he began therapy. At the same time, Ruth connected with Elizabeth Hernandez, the family’s dedicated Care Coordinator, whose expertise was critical in seamlessly navigating this transition.

Over six months, Ruth observed significant improvements in Caspar’s behavior. She credits Elizabeth and the clinical team for going above and beyond. CFGC also provided funding for back-to-school supplies for all three boys. This gift of new clothes, uniforms, and backpacks was more than just material assistance; it became a symbol of hope. Reflecting upon her experience with us, Ruth shared,

“Everything I had an issue with, they had a solution.”

For Ruth, this transformation was not only about Caspar’s progress but also about the growth of the entire family. Inspired by the care she received, Ruth now plans to pursue a career in social work to uplift others.

This holiday season, we invite you to continue this important work by making a tax-deductible donation before December 31st. Your generous contribution ensures that families like Ruth’s receive the support they need to thrive.

Together, we can empower more families to dream bigger and reach their full potential.
