Lourdes Delgado

Lourdes is a retired Bridgeport educator who had a 39 year-career in the public school system, having served as both a teacher and school principal at Elias Howe, Barnum School and Thomas Hooker School.

Lourdes is currently the Director of the Faith and Education Coalition of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

"As a former educator I have firsthand experience of the impact The Child and Family Guidance Center has on its community," Lourdes said.

"Throughout my career students of all ages received services that positively influenced their lives. Both students and parents shared their experiences and in one particular case, a student taught me a lifelong strategy which I, in turn, used and had him teach other students. Serving the community with such a reputable organization is an honor."

Allie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy in private practice settings since graduating from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2015. Shortly after moving from NYC to CT, she started her own virtual practice, ALD Therapy PLLC, where she work with adults and young adults to learn the tools to cope with anxiety, depression, and disordered eating, and to navigate interpersonal relationships and life transitions with a greater sense of ease and confidence.

"Since becoming more involved with CFGC, I have been continuously impressed by the steps the organization has taken to appropriately address the needs of its clients through trauma focused therapy and complementary support services and the extent to which is goes to ensure families who could benefit from quality mental health care services are able to access them, regardless of their unique set of circumstances," said Allie. "The impact CFGC has on the community is palpable and I feel truly honored to be part of an organization whose work deeply enriches the lives of those it serves."

FCCF grant supports women and girls

This month, we give special thanks to The Fund for Women & Girls at Fairfield County's Community Foundation for recently awarding CFGC a $25,000 grant to strengthen our community programs and treatment.

“From providing girls with trauma-informed mental health treatment, to giving mothers tools to succeed and thrive, we at CFGC have long been committed to helping women and girls build a healthier, brighter future right here in Fairfield County,” said CFGC President & CEO Michael Patota. “FCCF’s grant through The Fund for Women & Girls is a major boost to this commitment, ensuring that our programs remain accessible and relevant to women and girls from all walks of life, regardless of ability to pay.”

Did you know: More than 60% of our clients are women and girls, and we are proud to have strong female leadership in our agency — about 70% of our managers/directors and 61% of our board members are women.Thank you to all the women who move CFGC’s mission forward and to FCCF for partnering with us to build a healthier, more inclusive community.

Final Giving Day success

Thank you to all our donors, sharers and fundraisers during the final Giving Day in Fairfield County on February 23rd.

We initially raised $10,489 in just 24 hours, placing us on the regional leaderboard at #35 out of 361 organizations! Then, we received an additional $5,000 check from the Piper 552 Fund, bringing our giving day total to $15,489!

We’re just amazed how our community comes together during this 24-hour event. Fairfield County's Community Foundation announced that this year was to be the final Giving Day, after a decade of impact.

Whether you’ve been with us for the last 10 years or just this once: we’re grateful you’re here and we hope you stay with us to see how your support makes a difference.

Special thanks to our Matching Challenge donors: Dana Scinto, Mike Ruggiero and Pat McCabe - and their fellow Board of Director members for being such great Giving Day fundraisers.
