Next week: A celebration of Gratitude and Giving begins |
Each year, starting on Thanksgiving Day, we at The Child & Family Guidance Center focus on gratitude and the accomplishments of the year. You can like and follow our #7DaysofGratitude campaign across all CFGC social media, including Instagram and Facebook. #7DaysofGratitude leads right up to Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Here at CFGC, the money donated on Giving Tuesday goes directly to moving our mission forward in the new year, ensuring children, teens an their families have the tools to heal, thrive and build a path to a brighter future. CFGC Staff Spotlight: Ruthy Blackwell, Supervisor, RTFT |
In October, Ruthy Blackwell, MA was promoted to Supervisor of CFGC’s Reunification and Therapeutic Family Time Program, moving up from her role as Senior Clinician with the program. Ruthy started at CFGC in 2019 as a part-time case worker for RTFT. Program Director Hyacintha Bernard said Ruthy’s excellent work ethic and peer leadership skills were all factors in her well-deserved promotion. RTFT provides parenting education, parent-child relationship building, safety planning, supervised therapeutic family time and case management to parents after children have been removed from the home. Using a visit coaching model, RTFT works toward long-term family reunification and supporting parents in creating a safe and stable environment for their children. “What gets me excited about my position is being able to develop more of my leadership skills within the program and agency,” Ruthy said. “I love the RTFT team and enjoy impacting the families I’ve worked with. I enjoy helping parents recognize their strengths and helping them build their self-image.” When asked about future goals, Ruthy says: “One of my long term goals for the future are to work within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As for the short term, I want to continue building on my leadership skills and having a positive impact on those around me.” Thank you for all you do for children and families, Ruthy! |
